Mother and 4 children killed by drunk driver

that is soooooooooooooooo sad =(
This is so tragic...:(
Like you I can just not imagine the grief this family is going through. I feel sad for the husband who lost his wife and kids, sad for the kids that survived than lost their mom, sad for them all. This tragedy could have been prevented had they only been able to stop that man from getting in his vehicle. :(
I know! there are just so many people involved since it was the 2nd marriage for both of them. So,his ex-wife lost a child (and one is still hospitalized) and Bethany's ex-husband lost his 2 little girls. It just makes me so sad everytime I think about it!
This is terribly upsetting;( I am speechless to say the least. Moving on will be the most difficult for the husband and surviving kids. Like Jen said i also think it could have been prevented only if that guy was stopped before heading for the highway.
I agree! People need to start taking more of an active role in drunk driving.Bars need to be held accountable for continuing to serve people who are obviously intoxicated.I always tell my friends if they need a ride to call me and I'll come and get them, and I have several times! My DH doesn't drink so when we go out with our friends he is the DD.I think the message really needs to be made not to let others drink and drive. The Taco Bell he had stopped at did call the police but by the time they got there he was gone.
Having a family is the most precious gift and to have that taken away due to such stupidity. Drunk drivers should face a harsh penalty for their acts!! How can someone be so irresponsible and get behind the wheel in such a condition. As a mom, my heart also aches when i look at those innocent faces;( Although i don't know them it hurts;( Oh, can you imagine what the Dad must be feeling right now?!
I admire you for offering to drive your friends home when they need that extra drink. Way to go!!
Thanks! My friends mean a lot to me,so I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to them.We went to a friends house for New Years Eve and one of her friends was really drunk and I tried to stop him from leaving. But when I went to get my DH to drive him home he just left. The next day my friend told me he didn't remember a thing about the night,so he obviously doesn't remember driving.I think when people are drinking their judgement is clouded, and their not thinking rationally, not making excuses for them at all.But this is where other people need to step in and take their keys, call them a cab or call the police if they have to resort to that!Whatever they can do so that person doesn't get behind the wheel.
You're welcome=) I like the idea of calling a cab. That can definitely save a lot of pain. Thank goodness your friend got home safe that night=) Life is so precious so it's a good thing that we have people like you to help. The bars should also have some sort of stipulation when serving alcohol to their customers. If the bar says No then that customer has no choice, right?

Well I know around here in NY a bartendar can choose not to serve someone. Not sure what the law is everywhere else.Too many times bars care more about making money though. That's why I feel bars should be more accountable.

Couldn't agree more=) Bars should share the accountability as well!
